In the House of Commons, replying to questions, the Post- master General said the Eastern Telegraph Company had applied for a licence to build a bigh-powered wireless station in England in connection with the Empire wireless chain. The Company would have the same chances of obtaining a licence as the Marconi-Com- pany so far as the Government was concerned. The question of corresponding stations in India or to Dominions would be for, the Governments concerned.. A site of 800 acres had been purchased by the Post Office near Rugby for a high-power wireless station to cost about £50,000..
