London, June 15. At Troon there wera ideal conditions in the third" round of the golf contest, with a series of sensations, McDonald Smith brasking the course record with sixty-nine. He took the lead, with an aggre- gate of 212; then Kirkwood, also with sixw-nine, led with 220, but Havers, with another seventy-three was 219 and headed the field at the end of the round. Whitcomba and Kirkwood did it in 220, Hagen 221 and Mc Donald Smith 222.

At Troon the British open golf championship was won by A. G. Havers, the Coomba Hill professional, with an aggregate of 293 for the four rounds. The American, Walter Higan, the balder, took 296, the American, MacDonald Smith, 297, and the Australiao, Kirkwood, 298.
