I trust, therefore, that Your Lordship will approve of the suggestion now made, which it is expected will be supported by the War Office. Should there be no objection, I shall have to arrange for the payment of the sum agreed upon, which can, I apprehend, be made in instalments with interest.

The funds of the Colony hardly admit just now such a call. But I do not think it necessary to enter upon it at present.
