HEALTH DANGER. Surely something could be done to prevent the assembling of gap ing crowds whenever a plague case is being removed from a house OF the place is being disinfected. The Chinese crowd round, jostling ora another and the inmates of the infected house, and if the place is being cleansed and a lot of filth thrown into the street, coolies are often to be seen picking it over, and this much aid the spread of infection. Cannot the police take some action in the matter?

THE FRENCH COMMUNISTS.

London, May 25

Reuter's correspondent at Paris paints out that the Senate's dosision does not mean the release of the Commanists, but implies.. the epulon that the accused should be tried at the Court of Assize ir stead of the High Court of Justice. Consequently no political issue is involved.

The papers here -day are unanimous in emphasising that the Senate's decision as regards the Communists is purely legal and does not imply a lack of confidence M. Poincare politically. They dwell on the tremendous reception given to M. Poincare in the Chamber during the course of the Ruhr debate yesterday evening when his speech was practically unanimously ovated. The

papers point out that M. Millerand has not postponed his visit to Alsace Lorraine, to which he departs this evening. This la confirming the geners! view that the incident is closed.
