BRITISH POWER-DRIVEN GLIDER. The first British "auxilliary. engined glider, the Wren, made a T/T successful trial flight at Lytham, Demand

The Wren was designed and built by the English Electric Company at their Preston works. It has been constructed for the Air Ministry. It is remarkably light, being about 3cwt., and the dimen- sions are:-Span, 37ft; length, | 23ft; height, 5ft. The engine is a three horse-power A.B.C. motor- cycle engine, developed to seven horse-power, with a maximum 30 d. Sydney and Melbourne 2/51 speed of forty-eight miles an hour.
