the Tindale to get ready the boats. We all sank with the Ship, coming up I found a piece of wood, and clinging to it I got the cover of the Waterway which I remained 2 hours. I then saw my friends in the back of a boat, and swam to them, then turned the boat and got into her. We bailed out the water and then got into her. We were seven in number - myself, Wahab, the Tindale, Ismail, Seacumnie, Mam Popman, Timor and Frank's servant Pawan, the Syprang.

1. We then drifted in and drifted to Atylum, but just in sight of the land when our boat capsized on account of the waves being too high, the Syprang then went down and was lost. We stopped in Atylum 2 months more or less, after which we embarked on board of a Junte for Singapore.

The Junte sprang a leak which obliged her to put in at Pulo Candore, after repairs the Junte sailed refusing to take us, saying we were "unfortunate people." We went to the other side of the Island, inhabited by the French to whom we gave an account of our shipwreck and were hospitably treated by them, till a French Man of war passed...
