Master Attendant to Colonial Secretary Singapore,

Copy

No 46.

Sir,

Master Attendant's Office,

Singapore, 8th February, 1879.

I have the honor to forward for the information of His Excellency the Governor the depositions of the surviving crew of the British Barque "Asia" of Poong Kong, Hong Kong Register.

If these statements are correct, and I see no grounds to think otherwise, it appears to me, the "Asia" must have been unseaworthy when she left Amoy, and certainly.

The Honorable

The Colonial Secretary,

Straits Settlements.
