that there

10 men

in the Corps since 1867,

Now I would recommend
that the first 16 men
should receive
$1 a month, and the next 6, $0.65
or
$1 a month in the first,
and 50 cents in the second instance...
As these in rotation will be eligible for
leave the Force, the next
promotion to a
higher Salary
I think this will increase
the zeal of the members as they
will now have something to look forward to which they had not before, If my proposition is carried out,
there will be
an increase
expenditure of $228 for pay
and
$200 for allowance, making altogether
an increase of $428, or say
$110 a quarter.
