2. The Case was tried by Acting Chief Justice Pannajout and a Special Jury, when the Prisoner was found "not guilty" on the ground of insanity. She was thereupon ordered to be detained in custody to await Her Majesty's pleasure.

3. As the Colony possesses neither the accommodation nor the means for treating English or Foreign insane Criminals, the cure of whom would be naturally much retarded under Confinement in this tropical climate, and as the Prisoner was a Soldier in Her Majesty's Service, I caused the inclosed letter to be sent to the Assistant Military Secretary in the expectation that the Major General Commanding would take the steps necessary for having her removed to England to be dealt with as might be determined by Her Majesty's Secretary of State for War.
