These reductions, together with those re- cently agreed upon in the lighter steel trades, affect the whole of the steel trades of Sheff-18. The departments affected are the Siemens melting, electric steel fornace and crucible malting de partments, the rolling mills, tilts and forges, and the pressing shops. steel makers are very pleased that the reductions have been sccepted in good spirit. They realise that it will play in im- portant part in obtaining some part of the big volume of business which it is believed will be placed in the autumn. The last quarter of the year is expected to be a very good one.
