Denial of Bolshevism,

(Our Own. Correspondent.)

Shanghai, September 29;

Dr. Sun Yat-sen admits the veracity of the "Hongkong Telegraph's" disclosures relative to the proposal to form an. Alliance with Germany. and Russia.

He says, however, that the letters have been improperly translated and are partly false Hẹ defended himself on the ground that all the Powers except Germany and Russia continned to be aggressive. He cites the relinquishment of extra-territoriality as proof that Germany and Russia have shown a favourable attitude towards China.

China's Desire for Equality.

Dr. Sun Yat-sen says that the creation of th the Soviet Government had removed China greatest political menare, so long as the Soviet Government continues its non-Imperialistic policy. He says that China's greatest need is assistance from Powers which will treat China as an equal, and believes that Germany and Russia are the. only Powers qualified to trêst China in that maa- He therefore favours & conciliatory attitude. towards Germany and Russia.

He also says that he may issue en English translation of the letters reproduced the "Hongkong Telegraph". He asserts that. "Hongkong Telegraph's insinuation that letters reveal a leaning towards Bolshevism charge unworthy of an answer, as all intelli miads will realise that China is politically!! economically unsuited to Bolshevism Br says that he never once dreamed of transforiding China into a Bolshevik Republic.
