An outline is given in the Financier of an American proposal to organise an international plantation rubber company, amounting to a plan for co-operation between the producing industry and American inancial interests.
It is proposed to form a corporation called Rubber Plantations. Ltd, to be registered in London with an authorised capital of £50 000,- 000, to nice estates in each of the rubber-growing countries, which will be operated through agents as at present, with a passible re- grouping of interests to secare efficiency and economy. The ser vices of any szents affected by such regrouping will be utilised wherever possible: otherwise they will be compensatel.
Representatives of the plantation rubber industry are invited to confer with American interests, including rubber manufacturers, in regard to the situation. This last proposal at least is likely to be accepted. It is already being sympathetically considered by the Council of the Rubber Growers' Association.
