HUNAN COTTON. Collon production in Hunan is reported 2.5 follows Lichow" claims an annual production of 50,000 piculs. The staples of the cotton produced in this region | are exceedingly fine and soft, and afar length. About 20,000 piculs are yearly produced in Tazeli but the quality is much inferior to that of the cotton of Lichow, at Tainshib, Sinhsian and Houkow no less than 200,000 picols par year is produced, but the quality is post. Tvinghal produces about 10,000 piculs yearly. The pro- duction at Hwayung and Kiato SIMOUSIE AUUually to about 10,000. piculs, but because of its inferior quality, it cannot be used for spinning purposes.
