INTERNECINE STRIFE IN DUBLIN,

Big Push Against the Irregulars Expected.

Krater's Service ·

London, July 2 Heavy rain and the absence of people, trams, and jaunting-care from the streets conspired to render Dublin's Sunday ons of the melancholies. Snipers were everywhare busy firing on armoured- cars and ambulances, it all

A big push against the Irregulars is momentarily expected, as the efforts of the Lord Mayor, Mr. O'Neill, and Cardinal Byrne to avert the disastrous consequences of an attack upon Sackville Street tailed. Meantime there are frequent borsts of machine-gun Sre against the fortified area, within which are de Valera, Cathal Brughs, Osest Traynor, reputedly the bead of the Dublin Brigade, Madame Markiewicz, and about five hundred insurgents.

The only notable incident last night was the National forces opture of the Corporation workshops, with the garrison, after half; an hour's engagement.

The National forces report & few successes in the country. where the Irregulars are leaving a trail of barning barracks and are reported to be conscribing the countryfolk.

CHAN KING-MING'S REGRETS.

GENERAL YIP AS LIKELY SCAPEGOAT.

INTERVIEW WITH SUN YAT-SEN.

106 Special Correspondent.j

Canton, July 3rd. General Chan King-ming has communicated with Dr. Sun Yat-sen, expressing bis regrets at the recent confiet -and appealing to him to let byegones be byegones.

Dr. Sun Yat-sen is showing himself responsive to the peace overtores, and, as a firs: step, a telegram will be cir- culated by General Yip Kue acknowledging the illegality of his usurping the Government by force.

The indications are that General Yip Kue will be made a scapegoat by General Chan King-ming disclaiming sli responsibility for the coup and stating that it was carried out without his having been consulted.

General Ngai Bong-ping, who visited Dr. Suo Yabsen before an interview which I had with Sua on Saturday, is acting as intermediary in the negotiations.

The railway lines just past Shekpai station, four m'las from Canton, were bombed at 19 o'clock last night by bandit soldiers, who claared off. Communication with Hongkong is suspended pending the carrying out of repairs.
