A stip of the-Blue Funnel type has to wait outside antil high tide before it can come alongside the wharf. 1 He also said that the present 3,000 foot wharf with a mooring capacity of air vessels, is hardly enough to accommodate the ships that come in a day. Often times, a abipping board or Prince Line vessel has to wait two or three days in order to secure space along the wharf Another wharf, 5,000 feet long, is utilized for cosstwise vessels, alone, as it would collapse if the bottom was dredged to more then 18 feet.
