THE NEWEST IN PURSES
BY MARIAN HALE
French brocade is quite the
newest material for purses.
The Nouveaute purse in the ceatre is of beautifully colour- ed silk brocade held to a fiat
square frame from which a single woven gold bard ex-
tends. The latter has an ad- justable clasp so that the purse can be carried on the arm.
Quite an unusual model is the | bag which is framed in ebony and clasps with a dragon. The beading is a quaer old Chinese design done in saft colours.
Occasionally and sees lovely old-fashioned rose designs done in the beads on baga. Baga of such a type are usually found
in the more shapes, though

The ques- tions that will be there discussed are of the utmost delicacy; the weight of responsibility which the Foreign Secretary will have to carry will in any case be most serious; and your action bas added considerably to the diff. culties of a task which was already difficult enough.
The public consequences of this course of action must invit ably be serious. Its effect upon our colleagues is. I need not say, painful in the extreme. Bul Ism confident that everybody and not the least yourself, will feel that, however painful, cireurastances have made your resignation in-
