and heavy seas resulting in the ship putting into this Port for Coals:
This unforeseen and unusual delay
disabling
from getting
to San Francisco
intended
by the time I had anticipated & consequently I shall miss Prevesach by which proceeding I shall therefore have to wait on that place for the next outgoing mail which leaves on the 20th inst.

on which
the absence affects
