The Nippon Steelworks asked importers some time ago to pres- ent extimates for macbiners., They have now decided to cancel the sanders, however, and bare notified the importers to that affect. So long as the attitude of the Government remains 00- decided upon the restriction of armaments, the importers of machinery are unable to pises orders with foreign countries, while manufacturers of erma- ments abstain from extension of their work.
