AMENDMENTS.
The attention of shippers or exporters to Canada is drawn to the fact that another clanse has been added to paragraph 6 of the invoice now in use, and that the amended form will come into force after December 31st, next. Until that date Customs Collectors are authorized to accept the forms used at the present time. The additional clause reads as follows:-"And that such fair market value is not lower than the wholesale price: of the said goods at the said time and place: and that in the case of new or unused goods such fair market value is not less than the actual cos: of production of similar goods at said time and place, plus a reasonable profit thereon."
TRADE DISPUTES IN GERMANY
AND ENGLAND.
The German Union of Factor Workers report that trade dis- putes were of greater extent ant importance in 1920 in Germany: than in any previous year. The total number of disputes was 4,129. Of these 3,829, involving 21.351 establishments employing: 1,681,130 persons, ended without a stoppage of work. Stoppages occurred in 271 cases affecMng 812 establishments employing 73.794 persons. In England in 1920 there were 1,15 trade dis pates which resulted in stoppages involving 2.019,000 persons and a loss on the aggregate of 27,011,- 1000 working days. Of these the Coal Mining Industry was re- sponsible for disputes involving 1,414,000 persons with a loss of 17,424, working days.
