She lies at Bruges. The ship Nereus, bailt in 1887, with a gross tonnage of 1.817 toas, was sold at £1,390 us she lies at Gheat. Thus 6,150 tons realised £5,300 or a little over 17s. per lon.

HARLAND AND WOLFF'S ACTIVITY.
The day of big ships may not yet have quite returned, but Messrs. Harland and Wolff are helping to bring about the dawo. They have begun in their new Musgrave Channel Yard the con- struction of a passenger steamer of 32,000 tons for the Holland- America Line. This vessel, which will bear the already familiar Game of Statendam, is the largest ship laid down in the United Kingdom since before the war and if, as anticipated, she is launched in 1923, she will then be the largest launched within that Statendam was launched as Queen's Island to July 1914. She was of 33,000 tons gross, and had accommoda ation for about 3,000 passengers. She lay unfinished for some time after war broke out, and ultimate- ly the Government ordered her to be completed as a cargo carrier. As such she was renamed Justicia
