Supreme Court,
giving
at the same time to the
Supreme Court power to try Summarily cases below a
certain Value. But his Lordship
is of opinion that the introduction
of the new Indian Evidence
Bill should be postponed,
until the Bill
has not been passed, in that country, and has been
subjected to somewhat severe
comments, here and in India.
His Lordship agrees with you that the Law of Bankruptcy in Hongkong requires Amendment, but
entertains doubt as regards the application of Imperial
Statutes to the Colony, to which
you subsequently refer, he
entertains doubts as to the
expediency of adopting them
en bloc, and though there is less objection to an ordinance
which adopts a small number
of such acts at a time,
thinks it is inconvenient
for the great majority of the Colonists to have to refer
to the Imperial acts instead
of the Colonial ordinance Book. The last question which you raise as to the Intermediate
Court
may
stand
for further consideration,
but his Lordship is inclined
to think that the reference to the Council
should be made, and in
what shape?
