A French company has started an aaro line to link Gayenne, the capital town of French Gayane, with the gold fields of Maroni of South Africa. The distance is but 269 kilome- ters, but the country is covered with virgin forests, and the journey ordinarily takes a week by land and sea, whereas the airplanes have made the trip in two hours.

The huge fellow, a sturgeon 13 feet long, weighing 988 pounds was caught at New Westminster, B. C.

This is how the world's largest bridge will look when completed. It is to connect New York City with New Jersey, running from 57th street, New York, to Weehawken. An affica building, 350 by 400 feet, will be built as shown on the New York end. Vebicles will pass through a span 135 feet wide and 60 high. Two side arches for pedestrians and trolley cars will be 45 feet wide. On a lower deck will be 12 railroad tracks.
