1. I have much pleasure in informing you that Mr. Thumberly, on the part of the Government, is willing to appoint you to be Colonial Surgeon at Dong. Trong.
2. The salary is £600 per annum, to which is added £180 per annum as Surgeon to the Lock Hospital, together with the advantage of private practice.
3. In the event of your acceptance, I am to be informed by return.
