I think it right to preven
for the information of the Earl of Kimberley
from the decretory of the Police Commission, Kansmitting notes of evidence by Mr. Thos. Pettpay Rice, a Superintendens of Police. In that evidence the witness described himself as having been formerly a Commissioned Officer in the 5th Dragoons,
and attached for a time to the Home Secretary's Office - the further represented himself as having been employed on special service in various parts of England and Ireland to obtain information for the Home Secretary when his services were greatly in request.
And on other duties of experienced Officers
M. Rice could not however state on Cropp when he served in Lanarkshire.
