Resuming yesterday, Captain E. I. M Barett (183 not out) and D. W. Leuch (10 not out) continued | batting A slight drizzle had fallen overnight and a strong wind was drying the wicket and making it fiery. It was distinctly colder, with no gun. Davies and Reed bowled. Hongkong's fielding was not up to that of the previous day. Capt. Barrett had not added five to his score when he gave at esay chance to Bayer, the Hong- kong captain, fielding at bie favourite position, cover-point. Sayer WAR not ready, ap parently, and failed to accept it. Soon afterwards Leach had BD escape, another easy! chance, due to a misunderstanding between the wicket-keeeper (Lt. 1. B. Franks) and slips. Leach was first to go, caught by de Rome, after reaching 24. Cap-
tain Barrett ran Wainwright out, a smart return from Bagnall. Wainwright's was the only Shang- bai "duck."
Sayer made amends later, "dismits. After their leather-hunting Hongkong batted no better than expected. Starting immediately after tiffin, our batsmen opened rooderately. They lost de Rome quickly, O'Hara capturing his wicket with a lovely ball in the firat over. Franks and Sayer compiled fifty in half an hour. O'Hara was bowling brilliantly. He did deadly work, felling wicket after wicket until he had seves for 20, Hong- kong were all out for 80, of which 50 were compiled by the one pair.
Hongkong followed on. Suyer and de Home facing O'Hara and Allison, who were relieved by Bhoora and Leach. Rain stopped ping shortly after 4 p.m., with 20 runs on the board and no wickets dows. Our correspondent says rain continues in desultory fashion. There is a distinct possibility of a drawn game.
