In reply to your letter dated the 22nd April. I am directed by the Earl of Kimberley to inform you that he will be happy to nominate your son to compete for a Hongkong Cadetship, in the event of an examination being held before Mr. Douglas has attained the maximum age of 23; but I am to add that it is very uncertain when the next examination will take place.
