U.S. TRADE WITH HAWAII. Cargo moving from PugetSound to Hawaii in 1920 was more than double that of 1919, Shipments of Puget Sound producte carried to Hawaii are composed largely of lumber, hay, grain, flour, box- |hooks, steel and canned milk.
CHINESE COTTON EXCHANGE AT SHANGHAL ·
By sanction of the Ministry of Agriculture and Commerce, the Chinese Cotton Exchange, started by Mr. C. C. Niel, Chairman of the General Chamber of Com. merce, with a capital of three million dollars, has bean opened to business, and is working hand in hand with the Chinese Stock* Exchange in Tientsin, before long. branches will be opened at Han- kow and Canton.
JAPANESE WOOL IMPORTS. Owing to the cautious attitude of bankers, woollen textile com- panies in Japan are finding it difficult to lay in a stock of raw materials. The Nippon and Tokyo Woollen Textile Companies, and to Osaka Mousseline Company, however, all of which are stably founded, have placed orders in Australia, where more than 1,800,000 bales of old wool are being offered at very low figures, expected in the near future.
