Second Day's Events.

The Victoria Regatta Was brought, to a conclusion yester day, when some very, keen sport was witnessed. The weather was overcast, but, happily, rain held off. Added enjoyment was given to the occasion, by the presence of the band from the Empress of Asia, whose, selec-) tions were highly appreciated.

There were many more people present than on Saturday, among whom were conspicuous Major- Gen). Sir G. M. Kirkpatrick,! K.C.B., K.C.S.I., and Lady Kirk- patrick, the Hon. Mr. Claud Severn, C.M.G. (Chairman), and Miss Duff, who, at the conclusion of the events, distributed the prizes.

The Hon. Mr. Claul Severn, previous to the distribution of the! prizes, paid a graceful tribute to all those who had made the re-i gatta a success, mentioning es- pecially by name the Hon. Mr. E. H. Sharp, K.C., O.B.E., (starter), the Rowing Committee, Lt. Lane (Clerk of the Course), Lt. Dicken (assistant starter), Lt. Comman- der Stopford and Lt. Mitchell for organising the races, Capt. Riggs of Holt's Wharf and Mr. W. S. Brown for the loan of lighters, Mr. R. M. Dyer and Mr. J. Reid for launches and the Secretary, Mr. R. C. Witchell. He also thanked the donors of prizes for their gen-' erosity and, in this connection, mentioned the fine spirit of the Chinese community as shown by the Chinese. Chamber of Com-" merce and Sir Robert Ho Tung in presenting prizes.

After Miss Buff had distributed the awards, Miss Maud Witchell on 4 on behalf of the Club stepped for- ward and presented her with a beautiful silver bouquet holder as la memento of the occasion. The proceedings then terminated with three hearty cheers for the Chair- man led by Mr. R. C. Witchell.

The results are as follows:-- Inter-Club Junior Fours (dis-) tance one-mile): 1, Victoria Re- creation Club, 9m. 10.25s. Their Jopponent was the Royal Hongkong Yacht Club. The winning crew was composed as follows: A. E. Simmons, bow, 10st, 0lb.; G. Tivan, 11st. 5lbs.; J. Berentson, 12st.j ls.; G. May, stroke, 10st. Sibs.: and F. Lenfestey, cox, 9st. 5lbs.

Merchant Ships' Life Boat Race (distance one mile): No Entries. Inter-Club Senior Pairs (dis- tance mile): 1, Royal Hongkong Yacht Club, whose only opponent was the Victoria Recreation Club. The winning crew was composed as follows: V. C. Smith, bow, 11st.; 6lbs.; J. S. McCann, stroke, 14st. olb.: 1. W. Petley, cox, 30st. Olb.!
