I beg leave to acknowledge the receipt of your letter of the 30th ult. Enclosing a copy of a despatch from the Governor of Hong Kong, in which he supports the application of Archdeacon Gray to be appointed to the See of Victoria.
I am making enquiries respecting Archdeacon's qualifications.
