DISASTROUS SHANGHAI FIRE.
SIX SILK GODOWNS DESTROYED.

Shanghai, March 11.
(From Our Own Correspondent.) Early this morning a fire broke out, and is still is progress, which destroyed seven silk godowns. Another is doomed.
The Fire Brigade estimates the loss at seven million taols, whilst the Insurance Companies estimate it at ten million.
No lives were lost, but there were many narrow escapes owing, to the falling walls.
The fire has caused the biggest money loss in the history of Shanghai. Two firemen were hurt.
Tho silk market is relieved, and better prices are quoted to-day.

The discussion of the London Conference in the Reichstag Foreign Affairs Committee was strictly privato, but, according to certain privileged newspapers, the feature of to-days-proceedings was a violent attack on the aimlessness of the Government's foreign policy by Herr Hugo Stinnes, who is one of the dominant factors in modern Germany.
Dr. von Simons is reported as replying thereto, saying that though he would gladly accept Herr Stinnes advice, he was not one of his junior clerks.
