GAOL MURDERS RECALLED.
Last of the Escaped Convicts Arrested.
The last of the four convicte who broke from Victoria Gaoliant year and murdered two of the wardors has been arrested.
Information supplied by one of the crew of a ship led to the Hongkong Police taking steps for the arrest of the prisoner, which was accordingly effected in the district of Nam Hoi, near Canton, where he was in hiding.
Through the courtesy of the Canton Government, the deporta- tian of the fugitive back to Hong- kong was made without difficulty, and ho returned in the custody of the local police this morning.
With the arrest of this mab, the episode of the gaol outbreak which had led to such tragic con- sequences in the deaths of Warders Speed and Harnam Singh, is recalled. The three other culprits were arrested at different inter- vals, and, as was reported at the time, they were all executed.
