I have had the honor to receive your confidential communication of the 19th Instant, with its enclosures relating to Mr S. Fitzroy Bace, now an Assistant Superintendent of Police at Houghtong, and I beg to acquaint,

your for the information of the Earl of Kimberley, that Bice served as a Constable in the City of London Police Force from the 15th of March 1858 to the 12th of May 1860, when he resigned to take the situation of Inspector of Police of the Borough of Reading.
