DEATH OF BARON KONDO.

The local office of the Nippon Yusen Kaisha informs us that a cablegram has been received from Tokyo conveying the sad news that Baron Rempei Kondo, Pré- sident of the. Nippon Yusen Kaisha, died on the 9th instant, and that the funeral is to take place on the 13th instant.
The late Baron Kondo, who was born in 1850, was created a Baron in 1911, He had long been associated with shipping, having served under the late Iwasaki, whose relative by marriage he He was subsequently became. appointed a Director of the N.Y.K. on ite creation, was elected Vies President at the time of the Japan-China War and finally became its President.
