I am directed by the Earl of Kimberley to inform and acknowledge the receipt of your letter dated the 11th April, in which you recommend that the Clerks of the China Telegraph company should be exempted from the duty of serving on Juries at Hong Kong.
A copy of your letter will be forwarded to the Govt of Hongkong for his favourable consideration.
I am to add that it is not known at this office that the Clerks of your company are exempted from this duty in Singapore.
