I have just received
intimation that two of the Clerks
belonging to this Company
have been summoned to serve on the
Jury at the Sessions which have been convened at Hongkong on the 18th instant, and my Superintendent informs
that on appeal to the Governor of that Colony he has been
unable to obtain a reconsideration of that case. I trust therefore that your
Lordship may
on consideration of the circumstances be induced to see the advisability
of Exempting our Clerks from this duty.
