At each corner of the necropolis a Catholic chapel, Protestant church, Jewish syuarogue and Massulman mosque are being erected. It is proposed to transfer the identified bodies, now lying in thousands around the town, to the famous bill at Douro- moat whose slopes will be a vast cemetery, enabling the visitor at a glance to appreciate the magnitude of the struggle.
