Diplomatic circles are disposed to regard M. Leforzels speech in the French thamber en Liermany's capacity for mischief as too alarmist, though it certainly has some solid basis. This is borne out by the Knowledge possessed by the chief members of the Entente of the present existence of a composite, well-equipped German force in Bavaria describ.moved to the Government Civitati anu tan gratiemen i ed as Citizen Guards. Representations herein made by the Allied Mis. Kiss have not evoked a satisfactory reply, the contention being that they are necessary owing to local conditions,

Official statistics of Prench foreign trade for the first eleven months od 1920 show that the situation is constantly improving Exquets ex. reeded by over 450 millions sterling last year's figures for the same period, Imports during the same period show, an increase of some ninety millions only. One uther satisfactory faer is that feel imports are decreasing steadily and exports of inanufactured articles inerrasing every day.
The former Cabinet Minister M. Loucheur, speaking before the Chamber of Deputies, stated that the present economic world crisis is largely ascribable to exchanges being in such an unsettled condition and he expressed the opinion that fireat Britain and the United States would be well advised in giving up their present policy of inancial isolation and granting loans to nations.temporarily embarrassed. AD nations are no bound together ren mically. M. Lochear also wated that world peace would be completely restored only after Germans's disarmament. The Chamber, by a large majority, passet a vote of confidence in the Government.

A "Times" message from New York says that eleven out of thirty-10 nine cotton mills have closed at Fall River. Factories of all kinds are closing in New England and the Eastern States, or employers are drastically reducing wages. Apparently the polity of the employers is to force conditions of prodaction back to normal.
