the Chinese Passengers Stealth Ordinance of 1859. After attention had been "called to its (apparently) excessive amount by a report from the Board of 19th Jan. 1859. There is no doubt that the services of skilled persons command a much higher remuneration in England than in this country - and as these have been in existence for many years, without, as far as I am aware, leading to any remonstrance or creating any dissatisfaction, I would recommend that the tariff transmitted by Sir R. MacDonnell should be approved.
