I have to acknowledge your letter of 2nd instant with a despatch from Sir R. G. MacDonell on the subject of the allegations of the Portuguese Authorities on to the mode of conducting emigration from Hongkong. In answer to Earl Granville's remonstrances respecting Emigration from Macao.
2. I had the honour to report on this subject on 2nd instant, pointing out the particulars in which emigration from Hongkong differed from Emigration from Macao.
