Armed with a paint-scraper and an iron bar, the madman attacked one of the Chinese passengers, and a ship's watchman who attempted seize him. The ship's cook was in turn attacked, and be sustain- ed a number of injuries on the bead and arts. The Secord Officer of the vessel, who was summoned, received a blow in the arm from the iron bar when he approached the crazy Chinese.
