At the Thames Police Cour! || recently, before Mr. Cairns, Kenji Okawa, a Japanese subject, was charged on remand with being ao anauthorized person in posses- sion of cocaine. Detective-Ser- geant Edwards said that he believed Okawa had been actively engaged in the purchase and sale of cocaine. He also visited re- staurants in the East-end, and arranged with Japanese sailors to introduce them to white girls, Mr. Cairns said that the police had been able to place their hands on a very active agent for the distribution of opium and coenine. He sentenced the prisoner to four months' imprisonment with hard labour, and recommended bim for deportation.
