MORPHIA AND COCAINE IN CHINA.
London, Jane 11. The House of Commons'has passed the second reading of the Dangerous Drugs Bill. Mr. Baird stated that one of the reasons why the Government was anxious to have the powers of the Bill was that the British representatives in China and Japan had repeatedly refers- ed to the disastrous affect of the morphia and cocaïne traffic with China. The Government hoped to be able to get our Japanese Allies and Chinese friends to deal with this trade.
PRINTERS ON STRIKE.

Following on the ballat the Typographical Association refused the employers' offer of a ten shillings increase in wages and tendered notices to strike in a fortnight's time. The Asscelation has a working membership of 26,000. All the machine minders and compositors in England and Wales are affected.
