Stockholm, April 15. The new Marriage Law was passed yester- day by 53 votes to 41 in the First Chamber, and by 126 vyces to 26 in the Second Chamber. The principal provisions of the nex law are to strengthen the matri- menial independence of the wife. to abolish the husband's personal guardianship over the wife, to deprive the husband of the legal right to dispose of his wife's personal property, and to afford to the wife the possibility of obtaining increased legal_pro tection. The general aim of the measure is to ensure matrimonial equality for both sets.
