hours at Hongkong.

For some goods seized on the 4th May last, under a warrant issued

by the Vice Admiralty Court

of the Colony

I am to request that their Lordships' special attention

be drawn to the letter

of the Judge of the Vice

Admiralty

Court dated the

7th

May, in which he suggests an

alteration

of

the regulations

of the Vice Admiralty Courts. Lord Kimberley would also be glad to be informed whether the view taken by the Acting Attorney General and by the

Registrar

of the duty of the latter Office in respect of issuing Warrants of arrest is

correct.

A copy of this despatch

has been also communicated

to the Foreign Office.

(signed) St. J. Holland.

The Secretary to

the Admiralty.
