The Governor of Hong Kong therefore, as G. G. will perceive, so far from being cognizant of or countenancing proceeding in question, unhesitatingly admits its illegality, while it appears that the Registrar of Vice-Admiralty Court issued his warrant without consulting the Judge of that court or informing himself whether Aden had legal authority or jurisdiction in the matter.

The foregoing, My Lord, is a summary of the events in connection with this proceeding, which is a source of great regret to H. M's Govt., while they trust that G. d's Govt. will at once see that the Govt. of the Colony is entirely without blame in this transaction, regard they cannot the less regret the occurrence and annoyance which may have resulted.
