Of the German tonnage which Quinnebaug Medina has been surrendered to the Allies | Halching"... | A. H. Stewart... FRI since the Armistice, Great Britain has received nearly 1,100,000 tons. This by no means compensates the country for the amount of tounage which was lost during the war. A mere million tons of shipping surrendered to Great Britain when over seven million tons has been torpedoed is by no means satisfactory. The Cry during the war was a ton-for-a, ton and even if Germay has not the tonnage to thus com- pensate Britain she should be made. to. make compensa- tion in some other manner.
