Enclosing a copy of a despatch from Sir T. Wade, H.B.M. Minister at Peking respecting the possible injury which might be inflicted on Hongkong by Russia in the event of war with that country.
Lord Kimberley entirely dissents from Sir T. Wade's opinion that it would be advisable to give up Hong Kong
to China, but he will call the
attention of the Admiralty to the
copy
of Sir T. Wade's despatch on Russian Policy in China, further
