In reply to

Letter
of the 14th inst.,
I am directed by the Secretary of State for the Colonies to acquaint
you, for the information of the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs,
that Señor Don José Navarro
resident in the neighbourhood of Macao
and Hongkong
appears to be
the Governor has been instructed to report whether he is aware, or
not, of any objection to his appointment as Spanish Vice Consul at Hongkong
and
he is not aware
of any
objection, he has been instructed to recognize him in that capacity.
