Sir,

I am directed by Earl Granville to acquaint you, for the information of the Earl of Kimberley that he has received a note from the Spanish Minister at this Court, stating that Señor Don José Navarro has been appointed Spanish Vice Consul at Hongkong, and requesting that Her Majesty's Exequatur may be issued to that Gentleman to enable him to act in the above capacity; and I am to request that you will inform Lord Granville, if there is any objection to the issue of such Exequatur to Señor Navarro who at present holds the post of Vice Consul at Macao.
