A correspondent of the N. C. D. N., writes from Changsha un- der date of Nov. 10:-The follow- ing is a translation of an account of a secret meeting convened by the Changsha county magistrate which was written by one of the gentry present and given by him. to a friend who happens also to a friend of the translator. No Chinese suspects anything in the account. I am translating it in its entirity. It speaks for itself without need of
